Hydraulic & Industrial Hose and Fittings Manager
Midwest Hosemart, a Premium Distributor of Masterhose, is seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven Hydraulic & Industrial Hose and Fittings Manager to lead our hydraulic and industrial division.
This is not an entry-level role. The successful candidate must have a strong background in hydraulic hose and fittings, with proven hands-on experience in hose assembly, product selection, and fluid power applications.
This position is responsible for driving operational excellence, sales performance, technical leadership, and customer growth across hydraulic and industrial hose product lines. The role services key industries including mining, transport, construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational & Technical Leadership
Oversee daily workshop operations including hose assembly, crimping, testing, and quality control.
Ensure all assemblies meet Australian Standards and OEM specifications.
Maintain strict adherence to safety and compliance requirements.
Provide expert guidance on hose selection, pressure ratings, compatibility, and system performance.
Troubleshoot complex hydraulic and industrial fluid transfer applications.
Drive workshop efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times.
Sales & Business Development
Lead sales growth across hydraulic hose, fittings, adaptors, industrial hose, camlocks, clamps, and fluid transfer products.
Build and manage strong relationships with key accounts.
Identify new business opportunities within mining, earthmoving, transport, and industrial sectors.
Support counter sales and mobile service operations with technical expertise.
Maintain premium product positioning aligned with the Masterhose brand.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
Manage stock levels to ensure high availability of hydraulic and industrial product ranges.
Oversee purchasing and supplier relationships.
Monitor stock turnover, margins, and pricing structures.
Ensure premium product standards are maintained across all stocked lines.
Lead, train, and mentor workshop and counter staff.
Ensure team competency in hose assembly standards and product knowledge.
Build a high-performance culture focused on service, precision, and accountability.
Conduct performance management and ongoing training programs.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5+ years' hands-on experience in hydraulic hose assembly and fittings.
Solid understanding of hydraulic systems, pressure ratings, and fluid compatibility.
Experience operating and setting crimping equipment.
Proven ability to manage workshop operations and technical staff.
Strong commercial and sales capability.
Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
Trade qualification in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, or related field.
Experience servicing mining, transport, or heavy industry sectors.
ERP/inventory management system experience.
