The Opportunity - Senior Process Engineer We're expanding our team so we can complete our strong and growing pipeline of work.
As our Senior Process Engineer, you'll work with clients across manufacturing, renewables, and local government, delivering designs, hazard assessments, and regulatory reports.
Reporting to the Group Lead, you'll manage projects end-to-end, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and commercial success.
You'll support business development and continuous improvement whilst we support your professional development and career progression.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate project risks and prepare cost estimates and or proposals.
Deliver projects to a high technical standard.
Participate in technical appraisals, reviews and project audits.
Manage project budgets, resources, revenue and profitability.
Support job performance and provide input for project performance reviews.
Support business development, quality, performance and staff development strategies.
Communicate effectively with leadership team, colleagues, customers and key stakeholders, including translating complex engineering into simple language.
Manage relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to grow our business.
Requirements To be successful in this role, you will meet the following essential criteria: Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) Certifications relevant to professional Process Engineering consulting practice.
At least 7 years experience in a similar role, or proven capability at a senior level.
Proven track record in delivering process engineering projects to a high technical standard, with adherence to engineering principles, legal requirements and industry standards.
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated project management skills including budget, risk management and reporting, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities whilst delivering on key milestones and deadlines.
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to work effectively, collaboratively and positively within a close team.
Proficient in MS Office and relevant process engineering analytical software and reporting systems.
Current unrestricted drivers licence (motor vehicle) Process Engineers meeting the following desirable criteria will be considered favourably: Relevant process engineering experience in chemical processing industry or manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience in undertaking hazardous area classification and formal Australian or IECEx competency attainment such as UEENEE015B, UEENEE071B, UEENEEM052A, UEENEEM053A, or IECEx Ex000, IECEx, or Ex002.
Demonstrated experience and formal training competencies in facilitating process safety related risk assessment (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, Bowties).
Demonstrated experience in calculating or performing quantitative assessment in areas such as source of release, gas dispersion etc.
Experience in process engineering design and software modelling.
