We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Culinary Director to lead our restaurant's kitchen operations and drive culinary excellence in the heart of Tasmania.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced chef to join a renowned hatted restaurant and contribute to shaping menus that showcase the region's best produce. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to mentor and develop a skilled team, ensuring every plate that leaves the pass is exceptional and memorable for guests.
As a seasoned leader, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen through polished dinner services, training and mentoring junior staff, and designing menus that balance innovation and approachability. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail will ensure seamless service delivery and consistency across all kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the kitchen team through evening services with energy and finesse
* Working alongside the Executive Chef to develop the skills of junior staff members
* Creating seasonal menus that celebrate local produce and cater to diverse dietary needs
* Overseeing all kitchen operations to maintain high standards of safety, consistency, and efficiency

Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef leading well-structured kitchen teams
* Strong menu development skills using seasonal produce, with attention to presentation and flavor
* A genuine passion for food quality and technique
* Excellent organizational and cost-control abilities
* A collaborative nature: you value a tight, supportive kitchen but work confidently on your own when needed
* Strong communication, professional presentation, and a positive attitude
