Advancement Officer: Communications (HEO 5)
This role is based in the Advancement Unit at the City West campus and offers a fixed term contract until 31 March 2026.
About You
We are seeking an adaptable and relationship-driven communications professional with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across diverse backgrounds and seniority levels.
You will have excellent time management and organisational abilities to manage competing deadlines and timeframes with ease, as well as a keen attention to detail to ensure consistent quality of communications across various channels.
About the Role
As an Advancement Officer: Communications, you will support all Advancement communications and messaging, primarily communicating with alumni and donors around the world to build relationships and maintain strong ties with the University.
You will champion the Advancement Voice across publications, provide support for the approval process for the Chief Advancement Officer, and be responsible for telling the stories of both the University and its alumni.
You will help inspire, engage, and motivate alumni and donors to connect with the University through the alumni newsletter, donations, or events such as the Alumni Award Gala.

The Advancement Unit's function is the strategic management of relationships to increase understanding and support among key University constituents.
The Unit aims to secure financial support from donors who wish to contribute to the achievement of the University of South Australia's vision and values, engage alumni in the life of the University as volunteers, advocates, supporters, and donors, and manage relationships with current and potential supporters of the University.

Essential Skills and Experience
* An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in communications, journalism, multimedia, marketing, or a related discipline
* Proven ability to write, communicate, and engage effectively on multiple media platforms
* Demonstrated experience in the implementation of effective strategies for a global audience
* Demonstrated experience in the use and knowledge of a range of social media and digital communication channels to reach and engage current and potential audiences
* Demonstrated high level organisation including experience in working to tight deadlines and the capacity to contribute to multiple projects with limited supervision involving multiple stakeholders
