About The Role

The Senior Manager of Network and Infrastructure Transformation is a pivotal, senior technical leadership role responsible for defining and executing the strategic roadmap for the organisation's core network and infrastructure environments, focusing on the 1,750 stores and 360 hotels.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategy and Vision
o Define, own, and continually refine the end‐to‐end network and infrastructure strategy across Dan Murphy's BWS stores and ALH hotels.
o Translate business objectives into a tangible, multi‐year infrastructure and network transformation program, coordinating with architecture, driving the service delivery model, investment planning, and program delivery.
o Drive standardisation and innovation, including adoption of automation and modern networking solutions.
o Develop and maintain an Innovation Lab to test emerging technologies across Stores and Hotels operations (e.g., POS, Retail media, Electronic Shelf Labeling, Customer Loyalty, CCTV, FRT).
* Transformation and Delivery Leadership
o Serve as the technical lead and decision‐maker throughout the transformation lifecycle.
o Oversee the entire delivery of complex, large‐scale infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
o Lead the management of infrastructure transition processes to ensure seamless deployment and integration of new technologies with existing systems.
o Partner closely with Programme and Project Managers, Architects, and mitigated technical delivery risks and dependencies across all infrastructure workstreams.
* Operational Excellence and Governance
o Deliver the strategy for network and infrastructure services, ensuring high availability, cost effectiveness, performance and security across all platforms.
o Manage program and operational budgets, contracts and vendor performance focusing on cost‐effectiveness, delivery and service quality.
o Establish and implement technical policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with IT security, audit and regulatory requirements.
* People and Stakeholder Management
o Lead, mentor and develop team members, fostering a high‐performance, expert‐level technical culture.
o Manage cross‐functional collaboration and communication with senior leadership, business units and other IT departments.
o Act as the primary point of escalation for major technical incidents and complex infrastructure‐related issues.

Qualifications
* Essential
o 10+ years of progressive experience in IT across Network/Data Centre/Infrastructure.
o Deep technical expertise in core enterprise technologies (LAN/WAN, SD/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, servers, virtualization, modern cloud platforms).
o Proven ability to manage large‐scale technology transformations and large operational budgets.
o Strong understanding of project management principles (Agile, Waterfall) and IT Service Management (ITIL).
o Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
o Understanding of the retail environment and ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
o Excellent planning, problem‐solving and analytical skills.
o Excellent people management and coaching skills.
* Desirable
o Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, Cloud certifications, ITIL).
o Prior leadership experience in a complex, matrixed environment.
o Strong people management and coaching skills.

* Technology Vendors (Cisco, Microsoft, TCS, Fujitsu, System Squared, etc.)
* Network carriers – NBN, Telstra, iSeek
* Cabling and infrastructure suppliers
