Maxitool Australia is a locally owned company that designs and manufactures equipment for clients in Australia and overseas.
About the position:
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our team, working on the fabrication and assembly of a diverse range of mechanical and structural components. The team is currently engaged in the construction of a large dredge and associated dredging equipment, you will play a key role in supporting the assembly process through to completion.
The position is based in the Maxitool Australia workshop located in Edmonton (just south of Cairns) with the hours of work between 7am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday with overtime including Saturdays as and when required.
Minimum of 38 hours per week on a casual basis over a 3 – 6 month period, with potential for a permanent position.
Duties include:
* Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical & hydraulic components and systems according to drawings, specifications and industry standards
* Assist with the organisation of materials, tooling, and resources for day to day work
* Maintain accurate records of assembly and inspections as needed
* Help maintain worksite safety, quality standards, and operational discipline
* Work collaboratively across different trades to support efficient workflow
About you:
* Engineering Tradesperson Mechanical (Fitting) or equivalent Australian Trade Qualification
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
* Ability to fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical & hydraulic components and systems according to drawings, specifications and industry standards
* Reliable, hands-on and safety focused
* Current drivers licence
