The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent to join our high performing team in Kathleen Valley. In this newly created role, the Technical Services Superintendent position reports directly to the Underground Manager and leads both the Geotechnical and Mine Planning functions. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and effective collaboration with cross‐functional teams.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and mentor teams of Geotechnical Engineers, Mine Planning Engineers, and Ventilation Engineers, supporting their technical and professional development.
* Lead mine planning activities, including short‐term and long‐term mine plans.
* Provide geotechnical expertise to underground mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable mine design and execution.
* Collaborate with geologists and engineers to optimise ore extraction and resource utilisation.
* Collaborate closely with operations, geology and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
* Work closely with our other technical services and production teams to integrate geotechnical input into design and scheduling.
* Champion continuous improvement in geotechnical practices and contribute to strategic planning.
* Provide guidance to ensure mine design and scheduling forecasts optimise safety, recovery and cost performance.
* Maintain compliance with statutory and operational standards for underground mine design, planning and ventilation.
What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering or a related field.
* Professional certification in mine planning, geostatistics or related disciplines is advantageous.
* Significant experience in mine planning, geology and technical services roles in hard‐rock mining.
* Demonstrated leadership and development of technical teams.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and cross‐functional collaboration skills.
* A National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months or can obtain one.
* The ability to pass a pre‐employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
