Transactions Lead - Infrastructure Delivery

The team focuses on high-growth sectors such as Health & Wellbeing, Building Future Industries, Education & Future Skills, Tourism, Sports & Major Events, Screen & Game Production, and the Knowledge Economy.
About the role
We are expanding our team and seeking a Transactions Lead responsible for developing and delivering infrastructure project opportunities for the Gold Coast. The role involves assessing project feasibility, evaluating economic, social, environmental, and aesthetic impacts, and delivering infrastructure projects following Invest Gold Coast’s Project Management methodology.
You will provide specialist advice on feasibility studies, market-led proposals, approval processes, and commercial transaction shaping.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage stakeholder relationships, including Council, government agencies, community, and business.
2. Lead strategic decision-making across project lifecycles, developing projects within management frameworks.
3. Manage consultants, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality and value.
4. Develop transaction options, including partnerships with government and private projects on government land.
5. Consider all aspects of transactions and projects, such as land use, planning, design, economic outcomes, funding, and governance.
6. Negotiate commercial terms for major developments with proponents.
7. Monitor progress, produce reports, and make recommendations within set timeframes.
8. Provide expert advice on complex projects, managing risks related to time, quality, and cost.
9. Support other streams in investment attraction and strategic direction as needed.

About you
You are a motivated self-starter with experience in similar roles, capable of managing projects through their full lifecycle. You have experience managing transactions and conducting business case assessments aligned with State and Federal agency requirements.
You hold tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or Property Economics, and a Diploma in Project Management or equivalent experience.
