Electrical Estimator Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates while ensuring our pricing aligns with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the preparation of utilities, HV and industrial infrastructure projects valued between $1m – $100 million
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and achievable cost estimations for large-scale electrical work
* Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
* Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and profitability
* Work closely with operations to develop winning proposals
* Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects
* Review project specifications, plans, and requirements to identify materials, labour, and costs
* Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to gather and verify project details
* Utilise estimating software and tools to create detailed cost analyses
* Provide guidance to clients on budget considerations and project feasibility
* Ensure estimates align with industry standards and company objectives.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an electrical estimator.
* Exposure to one or more of the below categories of Electrical works and a strong technical understanding of
* o Private High Voltage Networks.
* o Low Voltage Networks
* o Utility Scale Renewable Energy Systems – Wind, Solar, BESS & Hybrid
* o Communications & SCADA Infrastructure
* o Overhead and Underground Electrical Systems
* o Specialist High Voltage Testing and Maintenance
* o Operation & Maintenance Contracts
* Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the industry, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
* Proficient with estimating software (Fast Track desirable)
* Strong process orientation with excellent attention to details ensuring accurate cost estimates and documentation
* Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects adhering to deadlines and budget constraints
* Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of project lifecycle, from tender preparation through to successful delivery and handover
* Electrical trade or engineering qualifications (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and industry standards
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
