BARISTA - SPECIALTY COFFEE
We are seeking two Head Baristas with a minimum of 2 years high volume specialty coffee experience.
Join our team of dedicated coffee professionals serving Australian specialty coffee in the heart of Australia's largest coffee growing region on the Atherton Tablelands.
These positions offer a salary ranging from 68-75k per annum plus 12% superannuation.
The successful applicants must meet the criteria as listed below:
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and serving a wide range of espresso based and specialty coffee beverages.
* Calibrating grinders and espresso machines to ensure optimal extraction and flavour consistency.
* Dialling in brew ratios and adjusting grind settings to maintain quality and enhance flavour profiles.
* Managing daily high volume coffee production(8-10kg) in a fast, clean and efficient manner.
* Providing exceptional guest service
* Educating guests on coffee origins, brewing methods, and promoting Australian grown coffee.
* Latte art skills and high standards of beverage presentation.
* Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace in accordance with food safety standards.
* Operating point of sale (POS) systems, handling cash and electronic transactions accurately.
* Monitoring inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies; assisting in restocking and ordering.
* Actively engaging in suggestive selling and providing product knowledge to enhance our guest experience.
* Leading and mentoring a team of baristas + floor staff to deliver an exceptional and unique Australian Coffee experience.
* Facilitating team cupping sessions by following ASCA standard protocols
* Maintaining & servicing specialty coffee equipment.
Work Experience and Qualifications
* Proficient with ASCA cup scoring
* Experience with Mahlkonig e65 GOD grinders, Puk press and Cafe Assist Milk Machines
* Minimum 3 years hospitality experience with a cert 2 or 3 equivalent certificate preferred
* Knowledge of Australian Coffee Production
* Proven ability to lead a team
* Knowledge of the basics of coffee production from farm to cup
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Knowledge and understanding of Fair Work practice
