ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Draftsperson to prepare Computer Aided Design models of structural steel based on architectural and engineering design specifications in commercial applications. You will also be required to prepare shop drawings for each component along with associated drawings on how the structure will be assembled. This role aligns with APS's values of People, Safety, Quality, and Innovation. supporting the successful delivery of projects and operational outcomes.
* Create detailed designs following engineers'/architects' specifications and Australian Standards
* Prepare shop and site drawings to industry standards
* Draft and model for commercial projects of varying sizes
* Perform quality assurance on own work and review others' work
* Communicate and coordinate with Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, clients, and fabrication teams
* Attend meetings, present models, and identify potential issues
* Maintain accurate and organised documentation for all drafting work
* Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and project goals
* Represent the company professionally when liaising with stakeholders
