Environmental Project Officer - )

We are looking for an Environmental Project Officer to join our team in the State Superfund Unit of the Waste Management and Remediation Division. The State Superfund Unit facilitates the investigation and cleanup of hazardous substances that typically occur at sites with the following activities: mining, petroleum refining, railroad fueling and maintenance, smelting, dry cleaning, and wood treating, truck roll overs, pipeline releases, and spills, among others. Releases from these types of sites are ranked based on potential risks to public health and the environment. This position reviews all project and technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance and will aide in the selection of technically appropriate, cost‑effective remedies to preserve and protect the State of Montana's interest and obligations at a particular site. Project management requires this position to act as a liaison to the public and coordinate with various stakeholder groups.
