Job Description:
The Magistrate Associate role provides administrative, secretarial, and research support to Magistrates in the court. The role involves preparing matters for hearing, managing court sittings, producing and distributing court orders, and liaising with relevant parties.
About The Position:
This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritize tasks effectively, and have a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare matters for hearing
* Manage court sittings, including trials and produces and distributes court orders made by the magistrate in the court case management database
* Liaise with relevant parties to ensure hearings run smoothly
* Attend in court as a judicial support officer in Perth and various circuit locations throughout Regional Western Australia
Eligibility Criteria:
* Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia (for permanent appointment)
* Have documentary evidence of entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract (for fixed term appointment)
