Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.
The Role
As one of our Demi Chefs you will work with a great team of people, all committed to ensuring we deliver on our service promise to our guests and clients.
You will help cater for increasing levels of business in all our food and beverage facilities including The Backyard - our hotel restaurant (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) with space for private functions, corporate events, parties, etc.
What we are looking for
1 – 2 years previous experience in a similar position (hotel environment desirable but not essential)
Certificate III in Cookery
Great attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Knowledge of current workplace health and safety and hygiene practices
Availability to work weekends and public holidays
