Role Summary
The Lead Structural Engineer is a newly created position within BG&E; Minerals Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the BG&E; Group. The role supports the establishment of BG&E; Minerals and its growth into the Mining and Minerals sector in by developing our structural engineering capability and assuming a range of responsibilities such as: Responsibilities
Develop and advise on construction methodologies and sequencing plans in consultation with site teams and contractors Undertake detailed analysis and structural design to ensure safety, compliance, and constructability Assess the behaviour and performance of materials under construction‑stage conditions Collaborate with engineers, designers, and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions Review technical reports, drawings, and design calculations for quality and accuracy Prepare / Assist with the tendering and winning of work Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other project stakeholders as required for the delivery of projects Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and achieve project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner Financial awareness of projects including resourcing, billing and forecasting Identify and manage technical and commercial risks on behalf of BG&E; and our clients Manage small to medium size consulting projects Take ownership of the final outcome on distinct projects / packages of work including management of resources and budgets, delegation of responsibilities and quality of deliverables Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and actively participate in interdisciplinary workshops and risk assessments as required Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate legislation, relevant standards, corporate requirements and systems Represent BG&E; Minerals and instil confidence in our clients and external stakeholders of the value we bring Qualifications
BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering Relevant industry experience (10‑15 years) Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles Skilled in structural analysis software and able to produce clear, accurate documentation Proven experience in developing practical, buildable solutions under site constraints Strong communication and coordination skills, particularly with site teams and contractors A proactive, hands‑on approach to solving engineering challenges Have positive professional relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in Queensland What We Offer
