An exciting opportunity for an experienced Land Acquisition professional to join a leading international renewable energy developer as the National Land Acquisition Manager.
The role is based in Australia, with the head office in Melbourne, offering hybrid flexibility for Melbourne‑based candidates. This position sits within a major global renewable energy technology company and plays a key role in securing strategic land for large‑scale renewable projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate all land acquisition activities across assigned development projects, including oversight of on‑site teams and external land contractors.
* Plan, strategize, and implement land acquisition programs while monitoring progress, risks, and required actions.
* Analyze and present land status, issues, and recommendations to project teams and senior management.
* Participate in planning and strategy meetings, contributing insights that support project decision‑making.
* Prepare and manage land budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and control of land‑related expenditures.
* Oversee due‑diligence activities including environmental checks, title verification, surveys, and coordination with BD and management.
* Manage acquisition of land rights, road and transmission ROWs, and ensure robust frameworks, policies, and documentation are in place.
* Coordinate with regulatory bodies to secure permits, clearances, and licenses, negotiating favorable terms for the project.
* Build and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, and acquisition partners to secure targeted properties within schedule and budget.
* Review and resolve title, zoning, permitting, and site‑specific issues, ensuring complete and compliant land rights documentation.
Requirements:
* 5 years of experience negotiating, communicating, signing exclusive, option agreements with landowners in renewables, real estate industry.
* Experience in communicating with local municipalities and state governments (DPA) on projects.
* CCP (local community) contact, reporting, presentation of relevant experience.
* Experience in managing and engaging with CH (aborigines and Culture heritage).
* Experience in using Geographic development software, such as GIS, Renewal Map.
