Experience leading significant policy projects, delivering complex outcomes, and fostering high-performance, collaborative teams is required.Commitment to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect, inclusion and positive team culture is essential.This is an opportunity to lead a team of policy and project management professionals coordinate, design and implement the Queensland Government's Innovation and Science Blueprint in partnership with multiple government and non-government entities.The role is within the Innovation Division, which is responsible for developing and coordinating the government's Innovation policy, strategy, and delivering strategic Innovation programs.As the Director, Futures Strategy & Engagement you will:
• Lead, plan and manage significant projects and policy development to contribute to the development of the Innovation and Science Blueprint.
• Manage complex workloads, meet deadlines and commitments and complete tasks within tight timeframes both independently and within a team.
• Represent and speak authoritatively on behalf of the department.
• Liaise, consult and conduct consultation and negotiations with a broad range of stakeholders within and external to state government including Australian government, industry and community, to gain and provide advice.
• Ensure the provision of effective, consistent and timely performance metrics and reporting to assist strategic decisions and direction setting.
• Oversee and prepare papers and correspondence for Cabinet, the Minister, the Director-General and others on complex and multi-faceted issues.
• Provide expert strategic advice and support to the Deputy Director-General, the Director-General, the Minister and government staff in and external to the agency on significant projects and strategic policy and planning related issues
