St Columban's Primary School, Mayfield is looking for a Canteen Manager to provide profitable, efficient and child‐friendly canteen service within the school community.
Responsibilities
The Canteen Manager will:
* Manage the daily operation of the school canteen in line with school policies, procedures and WHS legislation.
* Ensure customer service standards are met, particularly with children.
* Operate and maintain a food business, including stock control, inventory and financial record keeping.
* Supervise a small team of staff and volunteers, promoting a supportive workplace culture.
* Plan and implement time‐management strategies to control day‐to‐day operations.
* Engage with students, parents, volunteers and school personnel to foster strong relationships.
* Apply food safety and handling practices and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
Experience / Criteria
* Experience in food preparation and service settings.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Customer service experience with children.
* Ability to operate a food business.
* Experience supervising a small team and taking initiative.
* Time‐management skills and ability to control daily operations.
* Experience with volunteers and parent groups.
* Knowledge of basic financial management systems.
* Understanding of WHS legislation and ability to meet compliance requirements.
* Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office applications.
* Food safety and handling experience.
Qualifications
* Basic Food Handling Certificate.
* Current Food Supervisor Certificate.
* Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
