Certificate 3 Ocean Lifeguard:
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all beach goers. To be successful for this position you will:
1. Have previous lifeguarding experience
2. Hold a Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search and Rescue) (PUA30322)
3. Hold a current First Aid Statement of Attainment (HLTAID011)
4. Hold a current Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015)
5. Hold an Annual Lifeguard proficiency certificate (which you will need to obtain prior to the season commencing)
These positions start from $35 per hour (plus 25% casual loading if applicable).
Certificate 2 Ocean Lifeguard:
This is an entry level position for inexperienced lifeguards who wish to develop their skills and progress through the lifeguard service. To be successful for this position you will:
6. Have a foundational knowledge and understanding of beach operations
7. Hold a Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) (PUA20119)
8. Hold a current First Aid Statement of Attainment (HLTAID011)
9. Hold a current Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015)
10. Hold an Annual Lifeguard proficiency certificate (which you will need to obtain prior to the season commencing)
These positions start from $33 per hour (plus 25% casual loading if applicable)
What you will be doing:
11. Providing a lifeguard service whose primary function is to maintain a safe environment for all beach patrons and deliver Surf Education activities as required.
12. Running day to day operations of allocated beach facilities and equipment in accordance with the Lifeguard Services' Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures.
13. Pro-actively providing customer service and advice to beach patrons.
14. Providing pre-medical care and first aid when required.
15. Completing and submitting operational reports as required.
