What is this role all about?

Reporting to the National Operations Manager and based at Melbourne Airport or Sydney Airport, the successful applicant will be an outstanding achievement-focused leader who constantly exceeds performance targets. Leading and managing a team of managers within the region will require you to have exceptional communication skills with an ability to inspire and motivate a large, dispersed and diverse workgroup.

Core responsibilities include:

* Responsible for the execution of the strategy and business plan within their area of accountability in the fields of operations, local commercial/sales activity and fleet efficiency.
* Responsible for the delivery of revenue growth, margin improvement, continuous improvement in service quality, staff development and satisfaction, corporate and regulatory compliance, security & efficiency of assets, health & safety and positive representation of Hertz locally through both corporate image preservation and good citizenship.
* Responsible for multiple renting locations and agencies across the assigned region.
* Execute and develop a plan to grow market share, revenue and overall business performance reporting back to the VP and Operations Manager on business performance.
* Liaise and co-operate with Regional/State Manager colleagues across other regions in the planning and management of recourses and assets.
* Grow the skill and competencies of the location and area manager group to a level that aligns with corporate strategies and objectives. Coach and lead the development of these managers in areas of financial tools, people management, quality revenue growth, selling, cost control and accurate forecasting.
* Collaborate with departments and COEs to implement strategy to drive business performance.
* Ensuring KPI's and targets are not just achieved but exceeded.
* Lead a culture which creates an environment of innovation, development, excellence and teamwork
* Fiscal accountability including executing to a business plan, strategy and business development
* Facilitate accountability and responsibility to all rental location management teams
* Responsible for driving operational excellence and facilitating a customer service standard that is unrivaled in the industry.
What do we need from you?

With previous management experience in a multi-location and/or large volume business, you must also be able to demonstrate the following:

* Exceptional leadership and communication skills
* Strong strategic & commercial acumen
* Fiscal responsibility including reading, understanding and being able to positively influence location and region financial performance
* Ability to influence at all levels
* Passionate leader who can inspire, motivate and develop a high performing team
* Effective decision making and analytical skills
* Proven leadership and management experience across multi locations is preferred.
* Solution focused, think on your feet, problem solve autonomously to meet deadlines
