POSITION OVERVIEW
The Major Account Manager (MAM) is responsible for driving growth of Trend Micro technologies and services in the QLD Public sector. The MAM will drive growth from new prospects and an established successful client base. The MAM will also be responsible for working alongside Trend Micro's strategic partner community to participate in joint sales based initiatives and assist in the sales enablement function to ensure partners are aligned with the defined sales strategy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Drive consistent revenue performance by achieving and exceeding assigned sales targets through disciplined execution in competitive, public-sector, and university environments.
* Own and execute value-based selling motions, articulating Trend Micro's cybersecurity platform and risk outcomes in a way that directly aligns with customer threats, business priorities, and executive objectives.
* Build, manage, and forecast a high-quality pipeline, maintaining deep deal knowledge, accurate forecasting, and clear progression across all active opportunities.
* Maintain rigorous business discipline and CRM hygiene, ensuring comprehensive documentation in Dynamics, clear risk identification, and transparent deal updates for leadership visibility.
* Own regional territory strategy and execution, developing a deep understanding of local buying motions, decision-maker networks, and customer dynamics to maximise growth and retention.
* Develop and maintain trusted executive relationships, positioning yourself as a credible thought partner to C-level stakeholders, not just a product vendor.
* Collaborate seamlessly with Sales Engineers and cross-functional teams, orchestrating technical, channel, marketing, and customer success resources to deliver customer outcomes.
* Represent Trend Micro in the market, actively participating in and hosting customer, partner, and industry events to strengthen brand presence and expand professional networks.
* Operate autonomously in a remote environment, demonstrating strong ownership, organisation, and accountability for territory performance and outcomes.
* Champion customer outcomes and continuous improvement, leveraging innovation, insight, and feedback to improve customer security posture and long-term value.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Strong written and verbal communication skills including demonstrable presentation skills, negotiation skills and strong closing ability.
* Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholder, including the ability to engage at C-level in strategic business benefits discussions.
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in an IT Sales role in Qld.
* Previous experience or exposure selling Enterprise Security Solutions
* Previous experience in selling IT security/ Infrastructure/ Software
* Strong knowledge of cloud based solutions
* Recent proven ability to achieve sales quotas in target market, with a strong desire to succeed.
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS
* Account Management certification such as SPIN or MEDDIC would be highly regarded.
* Sales Based Certifications.
* Security Certifications.
