Senior Legal Counsel role at BOQ Group – Brisbane
Overview
We are looking for a high performing mid to senior level lawyer in Brisbane to join our dynamic team. This role provides legal services and support to multiple business units across the BOQ Group, with a focus on technology and commercial contracting.
Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial agreements including master services agreements, material statements of work, SaaS agreements, complex software licences, white label arrangements and other bespoke agreements.
* Draft, review and negotiate technology and commercial contracts to meet third-party contract standards; manage negotiating strategies for material agreements of strategic importance.
* Support group transformation projects, outsourcing arrangements, M&A transactions, corporate restructures, CPS 230 implementation and annual disclosure reviews.
* Provide corporate advisory legal assistance to business units serviced by the Technology, Procurement and Commercial Legal team.
* Collaborate with the Head of Technology, Procurement and Commercial Legal and other experienced counsel to support BOQ Group initiatives.
Qualifications
* Admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia with 6–8 years PQE.
* Private practice or in-house experience involving technology contracting, outsourcing, and general commercial vendor contract reviews and negotiations is advantageous.
* Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to negotiate and draft on material contracts of strategic importance.
* Ability to draft, review and negotiate technology and commercial contracts to meet third-party contract standards.
* Knowledge of technology law, operational risk management regulations, privacy and data protection; familiarity with APRA and other prudential standards for Australian ADIs, Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules is favorable.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and tight timeframes effectively.
