We’re seeking an experienced Marketing Research Officer to lead the research and data analysis to inform strategic, integrated and innovative marketing and communication initiatives.
About your new role
Are you passionate about using data to drive impactful marketing campaigns? We are seeking a research specialist to join our dynamic marketing and external communication team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing research and insights to inform marketing campaigns. Your work will directly contribute to the development of effective strategies that engage and benefit our local community.
Collaboration will be central to your success. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to support City initiatives and foster strong, productive relationships.
What you’ll be doing
- Conduct comprehensive marketing campaign research to gather data on community needs and preferences.
- Analyse data to identify trends and insights that will inform marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with a marketing and communication team to develop targeted campaigns.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and suggest improvements.
- Provide expert advice to develop targeted campaigns and effective, innovative marketing solutions.
- Facilitate market research to deliver focus groups, product testing, surveys and interviews.
- Contribute to the City’s Marketing Centre of Excellence framework through data-driven recommendations delivering continuous improvement.

We're looking for people who have:
We’re after a research professional who is analytical and collaborative, with proven communication skills and a passion for delivering data-driven insights. You’ll demonstrate a good understanding of marketing practices, and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with practical solutions.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Research, or a related field.
- Proven experience in primary and secondary market research and data analysis.
- Proficiency in using market research tools and software.
