About The Role
We are currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Brisbane Support Office team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide financial and accounting support to ensure the effective and seamless delivery of the finance function. This role plays a key part in the month-end processes, accounts receivable, financial reporting and compliance activities across the Group.
Responsibilities
* Month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
* Facilitating job and customer set-up within Jobpac (ERP)
* Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register (including Tax Fixed Asset Register)
* Assisting with preparation of BAS, Tax Returns and FBT
* Supporting accounts receivable including invoicing in line with contract and purchase order terms
* Monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable and project deliverables
* Reviewing profit and loss accounts to ensure accuracy of financial results
* Preparing weekly accounts receivable cash flow projections and following up outstanding invoices
* Supporting treasury management tasks as required
* Supporting finance system enhancements and system integrations
* Providing financial reporting and commercial insights
* Supporting ad hoc finance and internal improvement projects
Qualifications & Experience
We are really passionate about finding the right person for this role. This is what we are looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
* Working towards (or intention to commence) CPA or CA qualification
* 3+ years' experience in a financial accounting or commercial finance role
* Experience working with ERP systems (Jobpac or similar highly regarded)
* Strong understanding of month-end processes and reconciliations
* Strong analytical capability and commercial awareness
* Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across financial systems
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
