Retail Stock and Inventory Assistant Role
This role provides warehousing services to all regional, metropolitan and online Museum stores.
* Receiving, organizing and dispatching goods for all WA Museum regional, metropolitan and online stores. This includes monitoring stock levels and performing physical counts as required.
* Monitoring quality control of stock and facilitating the correction of delivery or quality issues; requires data entry of invoices using the Inventory Management System. It is also responsible for verifying the accuracy of these records and taking corrective action where necessary. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counting and addressing any discrepancies that arise during the process.
* Monitoring and physically replenishing stock levels at metro sites. The stock assistant will ensure that all items are properly receipted and stored in a safe and accessible manner. Furthermore, they are responsible for ensuring that all storage areas are maintained in a clean and organized condition, which facilitates easy access to stock.
* Performing stock transfers between Museum sites, including internal transfers, physical movement of stock and logistics. In addition to coordinating with museum staff and external carriers to arrange transportation, it is essential to track and verify the location of stock being transferred to prevent loss or misplacement.
* Participating in annual shop stocktakes – with preparation and counting responsibilities. During this process, it is critical to accurately record the quantity of each item counted to ensure that stock levels are up-to-date and reflect the actual quantities held. Additionally, conducting periodic audits can help identify potential stock discrepancies early on, thereby minimizing losses due to theft or other factors.
