Southern Gulf NRM Overview
Southern Gulf NRM is a not-for-profit community-based organisation responsible for planning and implementation of sustainable Natural Resource Management (NRM) in the southern Gulf of Carpentaria region of North West Queensland.
The Southern Gulf region covers 215,000 square kilometres and comprises the catchments of several major rivers and creeks including the Flinders-Cloncurry, Leichhardt, Gregory-Nicholson Rivers, Settlement Creek and Mornington Inlet, and the Wellesley Islands.
Our programs are delivered collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including all levels of government, industry groups, Traditional Owners, and conservation groups.
We are governed by a Board of Directors under the provisions of the Corporations Act 2001 and the Constitution of Southern Gulf NRM Ltd.
Purpose of Position
The Administration Officer will assist staff to support the efficient and effective delivery of our work program.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
* Assist staff with administrative tasks such as answering telephone calls, data entry, records management, photocopying, office management, and vehicle maintenance and management.
* Undertake bookkeeping tasks including financial data entry, journaling, reconciliations and preparation of routine financial reports.
* Provide administrative and executive support to the CEO.
* Provide administrative and executive support to the Board of Directors, including management of board papers, logistical arrangements and minute taking.
* Manage and maintain our policy documents, including workplace health and safety policies, procedures and records.
* Organise staff meetings and similar forums as required.
* Contribute to the success of our team through positive and flexible contributions to the management and administration of our organisation.
Selection Criteria
Appointment to the position will be based on the following selection criteria.
Essential.
1. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and practices and experience in the application of a financial management package such as RECKON.
2. Knowledge and skills in the use of computers for business purposes, including word processing, spreadsheets and email.
3. Good organisational and oral and written communication skills including an ability to organise meetings, record and write up meeting minutes, edit documents and maintain written records.
4. Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of workplace administrative tasks such as travel bookings, telephone and email communications, use and maintenance of office equipment and vehicle fleet management.
Desirable.
1. Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles and practice.
2. Knowledge of natural resource management principles and practice.

General Conditions of Employment
This is a full-time position but alternative arrangements could be negotiated.
The position is employed under our standard terms and conditions of employment.
Rent Assistance
Rent assistance of up to $5,200 per annum may be available to employees under our relevant policy.
Relocation Assistance
Full or partial reimbursement of reasonable relocation expenses is available by agreement.
Leave
Five weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading is available pro-rata. Up to 10 days study leave and negotiated financial assistance for approved relevant study pro-rata.
Superannuation
Payment of an amount equivalent to 11% of the employee's salary to an eligible fund of their choice.
Vehicle
A vehicle will be available for work use when required.
Location
The position is located in the Southern Gulf NRM office at Mount Isa. From time to time, travel to sites elsewhere in the region will be required that may include multiple nights away from home.
Private Practice/Conflict of Interest
The successful applicant will not be permitted to engage in any trade, profession or business that would be in conflict with the duties of their office.

Driver's License
A current Provisional or Open (manual) Driver's license is essential to this position.
