About the Role

We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to provide compassionate, trauma-informed case management to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.

Working both place-based and via outreach, your work will span intake, assessment, crisis response and ongoing support. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, secure and effective responses that uphold the dignity and self-determination of service users through a feminist, client-centred approach.

Responsibilities

- Build respectful, empowering relationships with clients supporting self-determination and engagement.
- Deliver case management aligned with The Salvation Army’s practice standards and the National Family Violence Model of Care.
- Complete ongoing assessments from intake to exit identifying needs, risks, and strengths.
- Develop and implement individual case plans in partnership with clients to address their unique goals and circumstances.
- Facilitate access to wrap-around support services, advocacy, and community connections.
- Regularly monitor progress and outcomes adapting plans to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness.

Requirements

- A degree in Social Work, Community Development or a related field (essential).
- Experience in family violence and/or child wellbeing work (highly desirable).
- Strong case management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management and organisational capabilities.
- A commitment to feminist practice and empowering vulnerable populations.
- A current QLD Driver Licence.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
