The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory team, with a dedicated focus on clients within the aged care industry. This is an opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys combining strong technical capability with meaningful client relationships in a highly regulated and purpose-driven sector.
In this senior role, you will work closely with aged care providers to deliver high-quality accounting, compliance and advisory services, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to the broader success of the Business Advisory division.
Your Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts and budgets for a portfolio of business advisory clients, with a strong focus on aged care entities
* Assist clients with tax compliance, audits and year-end obligations, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and ledger maintenance
* Analyse financial information and provide insights to support informed decision-making for aged care providers
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, consistently meeting expectations, deadlines and service standards
* Review and delegate work to junior team members, providing coaching and constructive feedback
* Contribute to process improvements, efficiency initiatives and departmental goal setting
* Actively participate in business development initiatives, networking and firm events, promoting William Buck and cross-divisional services
What We Are Looking For
* CA or CPA qualified, with a degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline
* Demonstrated experience in a similar senior accounting or business advisory role
* Previous exposure to, or a strong interest in, the aged care sector (including understanding of its regulatory and reporting environment)
* Strong technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, tax compliance and general ledger management
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to clients
* A collaborative, proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the confidence to mentor others
* Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting software
