They assist physicians in all medical and behavioral health care for the inmate population, coordinating patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to and deliver care according to protocols and procedures.Evaluate and treat patients for acute and emergency medical issues based on standardized procedures.Consult with a physician for conditions outside protocol and identify patients requiring transfer to an Emergency Department.Assess patients’ medical, traumatic, and psychiatric issues, documenting findings using the S.O.A.P method and EMR.Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, attend administrative meetings, and provide clinical support as needed.Qualifications & RequirementsEducationCompletion of a master’s program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAsExperiencePrevious correctional/detention facility experienceMinimum two (2) years’ experienceLicenses/CertificationsUnrestricted current license, certification, or registration in the state of practice, with ongoing maintenance of all certifications and licensesCurrent DEA registrationCurrent (and maintained) BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHAWe are an Equal Employment Opportunity EmployerWe are committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, celebrating backgrounds, and creating an inclusive environment for all employees.We encourage you to apply!
