About the Role: Reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, the Head of EPMO is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the successful execution of Goodstart's strategic initiatives.
You will oversee a high-impact enterprise portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, governance standards, risk frameworks, and financial oversight.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team, influence senior stakeholders, and collaborate across satellite PMOs to embed agile, outcome-focused delivery models.
The position also involves continuously improving governance, methodologies, and reporting structures to enhance portfolio management and alignment with strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership: Shaping the project management framework to align with enterprise goals, driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and supporting senior leaders in prioritising high-impact initiatives.
Governance & Alignment: Embedding consistent governance practices across enterprise and satellite PMOs, ensuring project approval, scoping, and execution align with Goodstart's risk appetite and delivery expectations.
Change Management: Embedding best-practice change methodologies across the portfolio and uplifting organisational change maturity in collaboration with Strategic Change Leads.
Financial Management: Overseeing financial governance of all initiatives, including accurate forecasting, cost control, and ensuring value delivery across the portfolio.
Risk Management: Leading the implementation of risk frameworks to proactively identify, assess and mitigate delivery risks at all stages of the project lifecycle.
Portfolio Oversight: Managing the entire strategic project portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, optimised resource allocation, and timely, cost-effective delivery of initiatives.
Team Leadership: Leading, mentoring, and developing the EPMO team and providing guidance to satellite PMOs, ensuring all delivery teams are skilled, supported, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as the key liaison between the EPMO and executive leadership, maintaining open, transparent communication across all levels and supporting initiative sponsors to drive results.
Continuous Improvement: Driving ongoing enhancements in governance, tools, methodologies, and reporting-building a truly fit-for-purpose PMO function that evolves with Goodstart's needs.
Health & Safety: Promoting a culture of safety-first, ensuring all programs comply with Goodstart's health and safety policies, and taking all reasonable steps to provide a safe working environment for teams and stakeholders.
Compliance: Upholding confidentiality, regulatory obligations, and Goodstart's policies and procedures across all aspects of delivery, including safeguarding children and promoting ethical conduct across the program portfolio.
About You: We're looking for a seasoned project and portfolio leader with experience navigating large enterprise organisations.
We're seeking someone commercially astute, strategically minded, and someone to bring deep expertise in project governance, financial control, and enterprise-level risk management.
You'll bring: At least 7-10 years of experience in project delivery, including 3-5 years leading enterprise portfolios.
Relevant qualifications in business or project management (PMP or PRINCE2 highly regarded).
Demonstrated capability in change leadership, stakeholder engagement, and uplifting delivery maturity.
