Mackellar is one of Australia’s largest privately owned mining equipment & service providers in Mining and Civil Earthmoving. We are the mining services contractor for Bravus’ Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland. Production is in full swing at the mine site located in the Galilee Basin and we’re excited to be building our team as we ramp up our next fleets!
Townsville and Rockhampton are our primary recruitment hubs, and we are also offering flights from Mackay and Cairns. We also encourage and will consider applicants from all regional Queensland communities.
Your new role
Secure a permanent chance within our on-site maintenance department, working a 7/7 rotating roster your duties include;
- Lead by example in this hands-on role, coordinating the safe and cost-effective maintenance of all equipment, including documentation and reporting.
- Ensure maintenance and repairs are executed within safety, time and cost requirements
- Accurately record the daily activities and maintenance tasks
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and effective, high performing teams
- Focused on continuous improvement, with ability to lead teams to develop and implement solutions
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture and record within the team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Trade certificate in Diesel Fitting or equivalent as well as previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry
- Demonstrated success in maintaining an excellent safety record for teams
- Current Mining Supervisor - G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3)
- Current Carry out the Risk Management Process - G2 (RIIRIS402D)
- Current Queensland Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
- A current Queensland driver licence.
