Job Title: Finance Business Partner
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and challenging industry, working closely with senior leadership to shape financial strategy.
The Finance Business Partner will oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support operational and strategic objectives.
* Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of accounting activities, including project financials, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Provide guidance on complex accounting matters, maintaining compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Oversee project financials, including sales and cost accruals, unbilled transactions, and accrued income.
* Partner with finance and cost control teams to drive timely and accurate monthly project closures.
* Manage standard costing processes and monthly reconciliations.
* Oversee payroll charge reconciliations, accruals for revenue/cost, annual leave, and long-service leave.
* Manage cashflow planning and liquidity reporting to ensure timely vendor payments, payroll, and tax obligations across Australia and New Zealand.
* Oversee accounts payable, treasury payment releases, and accounts receivable management, including follow-ups on aged receivables.
* Support audits, year-end disclosures, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Provide analysis of overhead costs, prepare monthly reporting packs, and support the Finance Director with project P&L reviews.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and achieve organisational objectives.
Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Accounting with CPA/CA qualification.
* 7-10 years of core accounting experience, including at least 5 years in Project Finance.
* Minimum 2-3 years of Oil & Gas project finance exposure.
* Strong financial acumen with expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Solid business understanding with the ability to link financial insights to industry and market dynamics.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and drive data-informed decisions.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
* Proficiency in ERP/financial systems and financial software, with strong data analytics capability.
* Skilled in interpreting financial statements and assessing overall business performance.
* Strong cost management expertise, including activity-based costing (ABC), cost control, and efficiency improvement strategies.
