Industrial Electrician Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for providing preventative and corrective electrical maintenance for our pet food factory.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out hands-on repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, componentry, and instrumentation while adhering to all safety and food safety standards.
* Manage unplanned breakdown work and planned maintenance across the site.
* Act as the first point of contact for electrical issues raised by Operations, Safety, Quality, and Engineering teams.
* Escalate issues promptly when additional expertise or support is required, following established protocols.
* Complete assigned work orders and assess any required materials or additional labor for future tasks.
* Conduct investigations across electrical, control, automation, and infrastructure systems, reporting any hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a similar role—ideally in food production, FMCG, or manufacturing.
2. Strong communication skills and sound judgment, particularly around safety decisions and escalation.
3. A collaborative team player who thrives in a cross-functional environment.
4. Confident with computers and able to quickly learn new systems.
5. Experience managing spare parts or inventory (advantageous).
6. Flexibility to pitch in across all maintenance tasks, even when they extend beyond electrical.
7. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a desire to make a genuine difference.
