About the Role
Kevria is recognised as a trusted provider in supporting individuals with complex behaviours and trauma backgrounds. Due to growing demand, we're seeking dedicated Behaviour Therapy Assistants to support clients in Kempsey and Port Macquarie. We also provide support to individuals with complex health needs associated with disability, ensuring person-centred care tailored to each client's unique requirements.
You'll play a vital role in implementing therapeutic strategies and providing direct support, helping clients build independence and live with dignity.
What You'll Be Doing
* Delivering trauma-informed, compassionate care to clients with complex needs.
* Assisting with daily living and personal care respectfully and professionally.
* Applying behaviour support strategies guided by our therapy team.
* Managing and de-escalating verbal aggression and crisis situations.
* Supporting community participation and skill-building activities.
* Accurately documenting progress and incidents in line with policy.
What You'll Bring
* A strong interest or experience in trauma-informed care and supporting individuals with complex behaviours
* Willingness and capability to provide personal care for individuals with health-related disabilities, including those with high or complex support needs (e.g. PEG feeding, catheter care, seizure management, hoist and sling use)
* Openness to working with a range of client needs—some roles may focus on behaviour support, while others involve personal care
* Confidence in supporting clients who may at times present with verbal aggression or unpredictable behaviour
* Resilience, empathy, patience and strong emotional intelligence
* Background in disability and/or mental health support (desirable)
* Valid First Aid Certificate, NDIS Worker Check, Working With Children Check, satisfactory police check and Driver's Licence
