**Your role**:
A Gap Year in the Air Force gives you an exciting taste of life in the ADF with just one year's commitment. You'll get paid for meaningful work, receive full Air Force training, and enjoy memorable experiences - unlike anything you'd encounter in a regular gap year.
As an Aviation Support Technician in the Air Force, you'll work as part of the flightline technical team at airfields operating ADF aircraft. You'll be on the tarmac assisting and gaining insight into Air Force technical trades, performing servicing, ground handling and support duties.
After finishing your Gap Year program, you can choose to continue a career in the Air Force or you can use your new skills and experiences in future careers outside the ADF.
**Your duties may include**:
- Performing flight line servicing and flight line support duties
- Conducting aircraft ground handling operations, including support to aircraft towing
- Operating ground support equipment
- Replenishing aircraft systems
- Marshalling and washing aircraft
- Launching and recovering aircraft
- Participating in cabin configuration changes
- Compiling and completing aircraft documentation

**Salary**:
Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you'll enjoy a salary package starting from $79,615 plus 16.4% superannuation.
