About us

Workskills is a proud not-for-profit that's been helping Tasmanians find their way into meaningful work for over 40 years, and we're still just as passionate about it today. Based across Southern Tasmania, we're all about community, connection, and creating real opportunities for people to thrive.

What's our mission? It's simple (and seriously rewarding). We get to know people, help them build confidence and skills, connect them with jobs or training that make sense for them, and support them to stay there. The impact? Stronger people, stronger families, and stronger communities.

Our teams are friendly, down-to-earth, and big on great customer service. We celebrate wins (big and small), back each other, and are always looking for smarter, better ways to do what we do. Continuous improvement and positive outcomes aren't just buzzwords here; they're part of our everyday work.

At Workskills, your work genuinely matters. You'll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of Tasmanians, and that's something we're very proud of.

The opportunity

Workforce Australia Employment Services is a big part of what we do at Workskills, supporting people across Southern Tasmania to find meaningful work. We're on the lookout for Employment Coaches to join our teams across multiple sites throughout Southern Tasmania on a full-time basis.

In this role, you'll be working hands-on with participants, supporting your own caseload as they take steps toward sustainable employment. You'll use a person-centred, strengths-based approach to connect people with the right supports, helping them build confidence, skills, and real pathways into work.

Our best Employment Coaches are friendly, organised, and comfortable juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment. They enjoy working toward goals, take pride in providing great service, and genuinely care about helping people succeed.

If you're motivated by meaningful work, enjoy variety in your day, and want a role where you can truly make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

You will be supported to:

* Provide client-centred, strengths-based coaching for WAS Participants in accordance with the WAS Service Delivery Manual and the WAS Deed.
* Manage a caseload of WAS Participants to provide individually tailored coaching support, through individual face-to-face appointments; small group activities; online coaching; and phone-based coaching.
* Meet individual performance targets aligned with the WAS Performance and Quality Framework and contribute to the achievement of team and whole-of-service performance targets.
* Coordinate with a range of internal supports and external organisations to provide WAS Participants with targeted vocational and non-vocational support; personal and career development activities; education placements; and work placements.
