**Male and Female Disability Support Worker (Casual)**

Kuremara provides a wide range of services, programs, and support for people with disabilities, we have over 10 years of experience in leading the delivery of primary health care services in Rural Queensland. We bring together a diverse set of skills from a wide variety of healthcare backgrounds to provide quality support services for our participants.
We currently provide our clients one-on-one support services in the following:
- Daily Activities
- Social Activities
- Assisted in home living
- Community access/participation
- Transport
- Respite Care
We are looking for a male and a female SW aged between 30 to mid 40's **with fluent English**, compassionate, fun, bubbly, hard-working and dedicated support worker to join our team. It is a very rewarding job that will give you the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the community, whilst also developing personal skills.
**Your key role**:
As a Support Worker you will provide support to NDIS funded participants, promoting choice, control and assisting participants in achieving their personal goals, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to participants with **Mental Health**.
**About the Role**
We are currently recruiting for a **mature, fun, bubbly **casual support worker to join our team to provide quality support to our participant/client in the Caboolture area.
Your work is based in a Participant's house.
**Positions available**:
- In Home support/Assistance with Daily Living, Community Access, Transport - (Monday-Friday & possibly Weekends)
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Assisting participants with daily activities, personal care, and medication administration.
- Creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters dignity, respect, and comfort.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to participants and their families.
- Conducting sleepover shifts and day shifts as scheduled to ensure continuous care.
- Ensuring participants' physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
**Experience**:
- Experience in supporting Participants with **Mental Health**:
- Mental Health Support Work: 1 year (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident and friendly attitude.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately.
- Understanding of safe work practices.
- Previous employment experience in the health/Disability care sector.
- Ability to work independently and accurately report back to supervisors.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience in providing quality services that assist people to maintain their independence, dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provide high-quality support to participants which ranges in their level of needs
- Adherence to service agreement requirements of the funded package & meeting of deadlines
- Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation
- Work independently within the community or the participant's home
- Reporting after each shift
- Support participants to achieve positive outcomes of their personal goals as stated within their NDIS plan
- Transport participants in a company vehicle to a range of different services and appointments
- Participate in corporate and community events
- Monitor participant's health and well-being, whilst also contributing to their skill development
- Other tasks as requested by the manager
**Qualifications**:
- Australia (required)
- High School (Year 12) (preferred)
- Support worker: 1 year (preferred)
- First Aid & CPR Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check - Blue Card (preferred)
- NDIS Check - Yellow Card (preferred)
- NDIS Workers Orientation
- Driver's Licence
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3-4 weekdays of availability for day and weekend shifts
- Must have or be willing to obtain the following:
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance (Yellow Card)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Valid Police Check
- Current Driver's License reliable motor vehicle (including valid registration and fully comprehensive insurance)
**Desirable**:
- Ability to start soon as soon as possible
- A positive attitude
- Current Australian Driver's License
- A personal phone to report case notes and receive shift notifications
- Be empathetic, compassionate and patient
- Must be friendly, initiate conversations with participants and encourage them to go for walks, movies and engage with the community.
- Preferably with Mental Health qualification or experience working with Mental Health participants.
- Must be available to assist with transport to and from appointments and community
