Job Description
Our organization seeks a qualified professional to work with children and young people facing challenges and trauma. The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Youth Work or equivalent and experience working therapeutically with young people.
Key responsibilities include assisting young people to develop living and life skills, role modeling positive behavior, and promoting democracy and participation. The ideal candidate will be able to provide support to children and young people in a household setting and participate in team environment meetings.
The ITC system provides therapeutic care, focuses on recovery from trauma, offers an alternative to long-term residential care, and enhances safety for children and young people. Primary objectives include delivering trauma-informed services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families and ensuring safety, stability, predictability, and consistency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A Diploma of Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent
* Experience and willingness to participate in training, especially for Aboriginal staff
* Skills and experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation
* Experience working therapeutically with children and young people facing challenges and trauma
