Job Opportunity: Data Center Operations Trainee
The role of the Data Center Operations Trainee is to work within an Amazon data center, overseeing various aspects of engineering operations. The position requires a strong understanding of risk management and mitigation, as well as corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure. Additionally, vendor management and metric reporting are essential components of this role.
This fixed-term hire has the potential to transition into a full-time role, providing a unique opportunity for professional growth and development. Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting on-site management: Ensure that all work performed by contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors aligns with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
2. Maintenance and analysis: Conduct regular performance benchmarks, analyze results, and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
3. Change Management and Incident Reporting: Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
4. Documentation and knowledge sharing: Contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
5. Infrastructure installation and maintenance: Assist with the installation of racks, provision power and cooling within constraints, and perform routine maintenance and emergency services on various critical systems.
6. Design and implementation: Participate in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities, learning from experienced professionals.
7. Asset management and inventory: Manage facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
8. Meetings and communication: Participate in Construction and Operational Meetings as required and interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational needs.
9. Issue resolution and customer satisfaction: Resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues and deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
