Working with one of the most advanced networks in the world, our network operations team uses the latest, most cutting-edge technologies to maintain our network 24x7, 365 days a year.
We are actively involved in many new technological developments on a huge scale to benefit our customers. And, that's where you come in, as we look to expand our talented team.
**The role with us**
As a Technical Operative in the cloud field, you will be responsible for the operations and support of our enterprise cloud hosting platforms and products within a 24x7 environment. As part of operations, you will be required to detect incidents, respond, communicate, and restore efficiently and effectively as possible.
You will be a team player and have a keen eye to drive improvement within the business to eliminate waste in our processes and contribute to the continual improvement culture within our Incident Management Operations team.
- This is a rostered role that requires shift work between 7am-11pm._
**Key responsibilities**:
As a Technical Specialist for the level 2 cloud operations team, you will be responsible for and not limited to:
- Monitoring our customer cloud environment and ensuring all incidents are actioned within required SLA's.
- Creating and resolving incidents within a timely manner to ensure the best possible experience for our customers.
- Providing effective communications to stakeholders and customers when required.
- Seeking to understand the way we operate and how you can contribute towards driving business improvement from an end-to-end perspective.
- Working effectively and participate within a team of skilled individuals.
- Ensuring all KPI's and metrics are met.
- Leveraging a train the trainer approach in upskilling yourself and other team members
- Having a problem-solving mindset to help drive improvement and identify automation initiatives.
- Ensuring documentation and work instructions are current and relevant.
- Willing to work in a shift environment.
**To be successful in the role, you'll need**:
Essential
- Has experience working with cloud technologies
- Proven demonstrable skills in managing virtualisation, cloud infrastructure and networking
- Effective and clear communication skills
- Experience with Incident Management (ITIL Framework)
Highly desirable
- VMWare certification
- Cloud platform certifications
- Previous experience in categorised key skills (VMWare, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cisco Routing and Switching, Open Stack, Virtual Networking)
