Workfast is currently seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee operations in a specialised mechanical installation and metal fabrication workshop based in Broadmeadows, VIC.
Our client delivers projects across the pharmaceutical, brewing, dairy, food, material handling and natural resource industries. This role combines strong technical capability with leadership skills to drive productivity, uphold safety standards, and maintain high-quality fabrication outcomes.

What you need
* Trade qualified in Engineering - Metal Fabrication (Certificate III) (Sheet Metal preferred)
* Proven supervisory experience in stainless steel and tank fabrication
* Highly skilled in TIG welding
* Strong understanding of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and safety regulations
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs and specifications
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and workshop/job tracking software
* White Card
* Australian Driver's Licence and own vehicle
* Full Australian working rights
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations
* Lead fabrication and installation activities, ensuring high-quality output
* Develop and manage production schedules to meet project deadlines
* Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with specifications
* Enforce and promote workplace health and safety standards
* Mentor and upskill team members
* Oversee materials inventory and procurement
* Resolve operational issues, including weld non-conformances and equipment faults
* Maintain accurate documentation, including timesheets, job tracking, safety reports and performance reviews
