One that is equitable andprioritises learning and wellbeing.Togetherwe will make our education system the best it can be.When ourchildren and young people thrive, so do our communities and ourstate.About therole:Consultancy, coaching,capability building and cultural responsiveness underpins InclusiveEducator work.Inclusiveeducators provide proactive, targeted, and intensive services topreschools and schools to support children and young people withadditional needs, including disability, sensory impairment, andcomplex health needs. They do this by working collaboratively witheducators and families to establish optimal learning environments,differentiated teaching practices and appropriate supports andadjustments to ensure each child or young person is engaged andparticipating in the preschool or school environment.Acritical aspect of the Inclusive Educator role is to promote aninclusive environment that supports engagement and best outcomesfor all children and young people. They provide support topreschools and schools to implement the Disability Standards forEducation to meet their legal obligations under the DisabilityDiscrimination Act (ODA) for children and young people withadditional needs.Inclusiveeducators work with a range of key partners to ensure the bestoutcomes for children and young people. Collaborating withfamilies, preschools, schools and local education teams, internalagencies and external agencies will ensure that the expertise andknowledge from each of these stakeholders can contribute tosupporting children and young people with additional needs achieveoptima l outcomes.InclusiveEduca tors work as part of a larger multidisciplinary team inStudent Support Services (SSS) who provide proactive, targeted, andintensive intervention services to support additional needs oflearners.The SSSteam works in partnership with schools, preschools and families andmay be available for children and students who have:developmentaldelay/disabilitylearningdifficultiesdisplayed unsafeand/or unproductive behaviourshealth or wellbeingneedschallenges withdisengagement or non-attendancecommunicationdifficulties.StudentSupport Services are on a cultural response journey, as such wevalue and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing andbeing.Qualifications:Essential:Current full teacher registrationDesirable:Tertiary qualification in special/inclusive education.Specialconditions:Thesuccessful applicant is required to gain a Department for HumanServices (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to beingemployed which is required to be renewed every five years beforeexpiry.
