About The Role
As Principal Electrical Engineer, you will act as a technical Subject Matter Expert across major power and renewable energy projects, including EHV substations, wind farms, solar farms, and BESS.
You’ll provide senior-level technical advisory, design review, assurance services, supporting feasibility, concept, detailed design, and grid compliance activities across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert technical leadership across EHV/HV substations and grid-connected renewable projects
* Lead and review electrical studies (protection, earthing, load flow, insulation coordination, TRV and energisation)
* Act as technical authority for designs, calculations, and reports
* Support feasibility studies, option assessments, and technical due diligence
* Client facing - you will be the subject matter expert in this role
* Mentor engineers and contribute to technical capability development
About You
* Strong background in utility-scale wind, solar, or BESS projects
* Solid understanding of HV + EHV Substations
* 10+ years’ experience in the Australian power and renewables sector
* Must have chartered status CPEng and eligible for RPEQ/RPEV
* Strong knowledge of NEM and Australian TNSP requirements
* Strong communicator who is confident communication to clients.
