We're looking for a Digital Automation and Data Specialist to join our dynamic team and help power meaningful change in the charity and not-for-profit sector.
In this key role, you'll work behind the scenes to build and maintain the infrastructure that drives Donor Republic's cutting-edge digital fundraising campaigns. From developing data pipelines and complex API integrations, to designing automations and building reporting systems, you'll play a vital part in helping our internal teams and charity clients move faster, work smarter, and deliver more impactful campaigns.
As part of our Digital Production team, you'll bring your hands-on experience with APIs and marketing automation platforms to create seamless email journeys and integrations. Your strong analytical skills will be put to use working with both structured and unstructured data, enabling data-driven decisions through efficient architecture and process design.
You'll also:
Build and maintain data pipelines between campaign platforms (e.g. Raisely, Funraisin), email tools (e.g. Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp), CRMs and a BigQuery-based data warehouse.
Integrate APIs, set up automations, and develop scripts that make campaign delivery and reporting more efficient.
Improve the flow of data for segmentation, audience targeting, and post-campaign reporting.
Set up tracking and visualisation tools that help Donor Republic teams make faster, more informed decisions.
Troubleshoot issues in real-time and collaborate with account teams to remove bottlenecks and simplify workflows.
Scale smart solutions across multiple clients and campaigns.
Support the organisation with post campaign and ad-hoc data analysis to enable data-led decision making.
Work with accounts teams and with a range of internal and client stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who's not only technically skilled but also a clear communicator and collaborative team player, ready to support and grow in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
Key skills required - essential
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent.
Strong experience in Python in a data engineering context or commercial environment.
Strong experience in database management, writing complex SQL queries and Data Definition Language.
Experience with using Google Cloud Platforms (GCP) or another cloud platform to build Data Engineering solutions.
Familiarity with Github and CI/CD practices.
Experience working with REST APIs and integrating different digital platforms.
Strong understanding of email production, email production and website development.
Experience working with marketing tools — Campaign Monitor, Brevo, Zapier, etc. and familiarity with marketing and retention automations.
Formidable problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.
Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools.
Project management skills across multiple digital projects in marketing agency or similar context.
2-3+ years of relevant experience with detailed knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools.
A thorough understanding of security & privacy principals.
Strong data analysis capabilities and ability to draw and communicate insights.
Passion for solving inefficiencies and automating repetitive tasks.\
Can bridge the gap between technical execution and campaign strategy.
Great communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical teams.
The maturity, confidence and flexibility to interact positively and professionally with staff, clients and suppliers at all levels.
The ability to work well autonomously and under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
Genuinely care about the work charities do — and want to help them do it better.
Highly regarded
Experience with PHP or Node.js.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS for emails and landing pages.
Experience working in or alongside digital marketing teams or agencies.
Experience using GA and GTM tracking.
