Job Description:
An opportunity exists for a Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Tasmania, a beautiful location with a laid-back cosmopolitan vibe.
The role involves providing clinical leadership in the delivery of a comprehensive child and youth psychiatric service to the community program across the North West region. The successful candidate will work within a framework of established medical services practice, recovery-focused and trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing clinical leadership in the delivery of a comprehensive child and youth psychiatric service to the community program across the North West region
* Assessing and treating children and young people at various sites across the region, including outreach clinics, residences, and emergency departments
* Contributing to the effective functioning of the child and youth community multidisciplinary mental health team through participation in clinical reviews and providing consultancy services for other team members
* Promoting and maintaining close links with other specialists, general practitioners, and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care and the ongoing development of the mental health sector
Requirements:
* Registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent qualifications from the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand
