Westpork is Western Australia's largest pork producer with farms located throughout the south-west, from Moora in the north to Mount Barker in the south. We employ over 180 people across 16 farms.
We currently have an exciting role on offer for an experienced Senior Manager candidate to join our established Management team, contributing to all aspects of our farming operations to ensure efficient and profitable production. This is a leadership position, focused on implementing strategies to improve productivity and profitability while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
We are looking for someone with strong operational expertise, strategic thinking, and a track record of driving performance improvements.
Reporting to the General Manager- Farming, the core responsibilities for the successful candidate are:
Assisting the General Manager in maintaining and improving current infrastructure across farming sites
Generating and monitoring reports across each site to improve business through analysis and addressing issues in relation to production
Leading and taking part in production improvement projects
Regulatory reporting including licensing and approvals
Managing and overseeing the business' renewable energy resources
Working collaboratively with the Animal Welfare Manager and the Production Management group to ensure best practice achievement in farm biosecurity, herd health and animal welfare programs
Engaging with external stakeholders for all things necessary for the operational management of the farms
Ensuring environmental and sustainability compliance across multiple farm locations according to local, state, national and internal company regulations
Maintaining clear oversight of R&M expenditure Capex projects and track key performance metrics
Frequent visits to sites within southern and northern Wheatbelt areas of Western Australia
Skills, knowledge and Experience required
Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science or (related discipline)
Minimum of 5 years in a relevant and recent management position
Sound knowledge of herd health, feed nutrition, quality control and farm biosecurity
Proven experience in financial and operational management, including budget reporting and development and performance reporting
Proven ability to communicate, collaborate and lead
Current unrestricted driving licence
