Role Description
The Event Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of ABCC events. This includes networking events, business forums, panel discussions, corporate briefings, and signature events. The role ensures events are professionally delivered, aligned with the Chamber's objectives and provide strong value to members, sponsors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Delivery
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver a calendar of ABCC events from concept to delivery
* Manage logistics including venues, catering, AV, speakers, registrations, and run sheets
* Ensure events are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high professional standard
Stakeholder & Partner Management
* Liaise with members, sponsors, speakers, venues, and suppliers
* Support sponsor engagement and ensure agreed sponsor deliverables are met
* Coordinate with internal teams to align event objectives
Budget & Administration
* Prepare event budgets and track costs
* Manage invoicing and supplier payments
* Maintain accurate event records and post-event reporting
Marketing & Communications Support
* Work with the marketing team to promote events via email, website, and social media
* Assist with event collateral including invitations, programs, signage, and presentations
* Manage event registration systems and attendee communications
On-the-Day Event Management
* Oversee event setup, registration, speaker coordination, and pack-down
* Act as the main point of contact during events to resolve issues quickly and professionally
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in event planning, coordination or event management
* Strong organisational and project management skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
* Comfortable working in a professional member-based organisation
Desirable
* Experience working with chambers of commerce, professional associations, or not-for-profits
* Knowledge of corporate or business networking events
* Familiarity with CRM or event registration platforms
* Interest in Australian–UK business, trade, or international relations
