Artefact Collection Project Officer
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Artefact Collection Project Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing and rehoming the artefact collection at Lutheran Archives, which consists of approximately 1500 objects, textiles, and framed works. The primary role of this position is to undertake a project to audit and rehouse the artefact collection, while also identifying ICIP issues within the collection and undertaking provenance research as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Audit the existing artefact collection at Lutheran Archives using the existing database
* Rearrange and rehouse the collection where needed, to archival standards and to maximise preservation and access
* Identify ICIP issues within the artefact collection
* Undertake and document any provenance research needed within the artefact collection
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in museums, galleries, archives, or information management
* Demonstrated experience in museum or object collection management, with an understanding of collection management standards, principles, contemporary best practice, and technical skills
* Experience working with First Nations material and knowledge of ICIP standards
* Attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and high-level technical and research skills
