The Opportunity
Wotton Kearney is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Workplace (Employment) team in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a high‐performing practice that advises on complex and high‐quality matters, in a firm known for its collaborative culture and streamlined ways of working.
You'll play a key role in ensuring matters run smoothly from inception to closure, providing reliable, proactive support to legal professionals while maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being trusted, valued, and embedded within a team that works with pace, precision and professionalism.
What you'll do
* Managing conflict checks, matter openings and maintaining accurate matter records
* Preparing client acknowledgements, appearances and Master Cost Agreements
* Drafting and formatting legal documents, correspondence and court material
* Coordinating diaries, court dates, meetings and key deadlines
* Supporting billing and WIP management in line with client SLAs
* Assisting with financial administration, including prebills and bill release
* Maintaining file hygiene across iManage and claims management systems
* Providing broader team support, including document production and workflow coordination
What you'll bring
* Previous experience as a Legal Administration Assistant or Legal Secretary
* Exposure to litigation and court processes
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Confidence using legal systems such as iManage, Aderant or similar
* Experience supporting billing and financial administration processes
* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‐focused approach
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise across teams
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to pitch in where needed
