Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for studying and making technical and economic assessments of the operations of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao power grids with respect to new generation interconnections, local capacity requirements, and transmission expansion plans. This role also involves conducting research on current and emerging technologies like Variable Renewable Energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Flywheel systems, and preparing concept papers discussing how these new technologies may shape the NGCP grid in the future.
- Management of Grid Security Studies: Ensures the long-term adequacy, reliability, and economic operation of the grid transmission system, including interconnections, by leading research, development, and advanced simulation studies;
- System Modeling and Model Management: Supervises the management of the National Network Model (NNM) of System Operations and coordinates its harmonization with other Functional Groups; and
- Technical Support to System Operations: Provides essential technical support to System Operations and responds to various requests from both internal and external customers
Requirements:
- Registered Electrical Engineer
- Five (5) years of relevant experience
- Flexible and conversant with any Power Simulation Tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Adept at system modeling and managing changes in the National Network Model (NNM)
- Exceptional in taking a leadership role in research and development and problem identification
- Competence in maintaining as-built mechanical, electrical, and architectural plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
